I was in my mid thirty’s and when I first realized there was $1 million in my trading account I was stunned. Then I needed to find out how it happened, so I did the researched that eventually became my first book. I figured if this could happen to me anybody could be a millionaire🤦♂️
Why it happened is because the most important thing to me from high school on was freedom. That was a primary driver because I promised myself, I would not be part of the rat race I watched all around me. At heart I was surfer and that was as my motivation. Looking back, it was a ridiculous dream, but the lifestyle propelled me to be free. It took time, discipline and strategic thinking but soon it came a little at a time.
Looking back, it never was about money it was about how it was made. The challenge, fun, creativity, the intellectual pursuit, the beauty, and reward. Even this late in life my new project Ranch83, is simply me building a pyramid of sorts. Ancient Egypt archaeology and Pyramids were a passion since third grade.
Generosity is important. I was always a giver, big tips, around on me. Professionally I made hundreds in my firm millionaires with my leadership, guidance, and support. Our remaining entrepreneurial endeavors will pass on to loyal employees. Ranch83 will go to nieces and nephews and their many generations. Our charity bequeath list will foster nature, at risk kids, and animals.
None of this has been without mistakes. My blenders and embarrassments have been many. Sometimes I think more than most people Often I would love to apologize or make amends if I caused anyone pain but people move on relationships are complicated which is why I love behavioral finance but that is a whole other discussion.
